Update : My Husband Francis

Hi all, I'm not sure who knows and who doesn't so I'm just emailing everyone.

 

On Friday 18th July, my Husband, Francis had a very bad Motorbike accident. He was travelling up Sparks rd and swerved to miss a car that crossed the road infront of him. He ramped his Yamaha R6 up an anthill and launched it 2m in the air, it travelled approx 10m airborn and summersaulting until it hit an elecrical box on the side of the road. His bike was broken in two and Francis came to land about 2m from the bike on his back.

 

He has a broken collarbone, multiple grazes, bruising and soft tissue damage to his back and legs. His Femur Tip (ball joint at the top of his left leg) is fractured and may need to be replaced. His pelvis is damaged, with his leg pushed up into the pelvic girdle. On Monday he is going in for a CTG scan and then the Specialist (one of the best) will plan for his reconstructive operation on Tuesday. He will be hospitalised for at least two weeks and it will take a few months for him to walk properly. He wont be able to drive for a while.

 

To everyone who has looked after us (Sav and I) a big THANK YOU! I couldn'tve coped without you all. Francis is positive but in a lot of pain, he has sent a THANK YOU as well.

 

 

Please note - he is at Entabeni, Fyfe Two ward, he has asked for any visits to be between 5:30-7pm weekdays and 2-3pm weekends - so that he can rest.

Well, my life has been a tad unusual lately – I am on forced holiday (my music school runs in the school terms only) so besides being short in pocket I am going nuts with nothing to do…

Well, in my first week of holiday I went in to my Husbands College Campus in Durban North to do a talk on running a small business, it was great. I then ran a Courtroom drama exercise which was very cool too. I ended up spending the day with my Mum – we died my hair (thank GOD) and had a great time.

I have updated my blogs and facebook groups, have spent time resting, reading, playing with Sav and going to gym.

I’m having a hard time coping with my allergies – this is a very bad year for allergies, everyone is complaining. I have been on two courses of Steroids and I’m using the best meds available but to no avail…the red cheeks, stuffy nose and asthma continue. I do NOT like it.

Caramel Popcorn!

People. I'm on diet. People. Stop telling me about yummy food. People.
I am trying my best. I will NOT be trying this recipe anytime soon.

Magic Caramelised Popcorn
100g butter/marg
125ml brown sugar
60ml golden syrup
pinch of salt
1ml bicarb of soda
1ml caramel essence OR 2.5ml vanilla
-Place butter, sugar, syrup and salt in a mixing bowl.
-Microwave at 100% high for 4 minutes. Stir after 1 minute and 2 minutes.
-Add bicarb and essence.
-Microwave for 1.5 minutes and stir again.
-Microwave for 1 minute and stir before mixing sauce into popcorn
Sauce is enough cover roughly 10 cups of popped popcorn, depending on
how caramelly you want it:-)
