Boston Marathon Finish Line Explosions

I am shocked to read about the explosions that occurred at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. I hope that they find whoever did this! My thoughts and prayers are with the injured, and their families.

A Page Worth Liking - Support Local

ATTENTION ALL MOMS and GRANNIES:

@TAP and The Coffee Corner

The playground and restaurant in Durban North that we all refer to as "@TAP" is actually called The Coffee Corner - their page is here: http://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=228784147240366

PLEASE LIKE: They have upgraded the play area, and the menu is out of this world - with their amazing double open sandwiches going for R34!! (My favourite is the Rye bread with smoked chicken in homemade mayo, topped with cool slices of Avo, homemade red onion marmalade and crispy thin ribbons of bacon - the side salad is GORGEOUS and adds to the flavour overall!) They sell deep bowls of golden potato chips (the best I've tasted) and also have a nice little Kiddies Menu. I also have it on good authority (my own) that their current brand of filter coffee will put hairs on your chest! (Ask Lucky to make you the Jumbo Cappuccino :) )

They use their 'Coffee Corner' facebook page to post information on specials etc so it is worth "liking".

This friendly bustling meeting place often has up to 50 young Mums and Kids/Babies there at one time! - So 64 'likes' shows me that Mums don't realise it's "@TAP"

Go!
Like!
I want to surprise them with likes!

Xx Please SHARE this blog page's link if you use @TAP's Coffee Corner xx Thank you x

Songs of Love with Sandy Bigara and Haylea Hounsom

Songs of Love debuted last night and I was so happy with the show… For a first performance it was without stresses and fanfare, an informal and relaxed evening with a great audience!

I had such fun on stage, told a few rather embarrassing stories (the audience laughed thank GOD!) and sang my heart out, Haylea was amazeballs as usual and gave me goosebumps in my goosebumps.

It's a family saying. Don't judge me!

IF you are in Durban and have R75 burning a hole in your pocket = please come along to the show.

SONGS OF LOVE

Call 031 8278991 or 031 3056889 or go to www.strictlytickets.com to book your seat.

I was also very proud of my little girl Savanna (5yrs) she performed a song for us and even wore one of her dress designs - I was a proud mama.

Sandy Bigara will be singing and performing Piano (Grand Piano via Electronic Keyboard) and Haylea will be singing and performing some songs on Guitar as well. All live, no backing tracks. Simple and pleasurable listening!

The show is separated by an interval, when on the 14th Johannes Wessels of Glenview Guest House and Karen Coyne of Vrede & Lust will present wines appropriate for Valentine’s Day, the award winning Jess, the Red Lady Malbec and the Mochalate will be available for tasting, together with the popular Sarah. The wine tasting is on the house, compliments of Vrede & Lust and the Glenview-Durban North Fever Wine Club. They are trying to secure wine donation for the full run.

The music for the evening covers a variety of styles and all are performed artistically, with beautiful harmonies. Sandy has a 20+ year performance record including tours across Europe as assistant conductor of the KZN youth choir and Haylea studied a BA: Music and Drama Performance, graduating Cum Laude.

Come and hear: Something Stupid, Arms Of The Angel, Bewitched Bothered And Bewildered, Against All Odds, A Thousand Years (Twilight), The Rose, I've Had The Time Of My Life, My Endless Love, That's Amore!, Paradise Road, Rolling In The Deep, When You Tell Me That You Love Me, From This Moment, Someone Like You (Adele), Power Of Love, Hero, Because You Loved Me and more!

Sandy Bigara likes to chat with her audiences in between numbers, keeping them giggling and telling funny stories about life and love. Haylea is a darling on stage and never misses a beat! Together they are set to create a warm and relaxing environment on stage. They have secured some lovely prizes as well, which they will give away "Oprah Winfrey" style throughout the evening. Unfortunately Sandy won't be able to realise her life-long dream of yelling "You're ALL getting CARS!" But they’re sure that the prizes they do have will delight the winners! They will have a CUPIDS ARROW that they will use to decide who win's the prizes...

Oscar Pistorius - Statement from Pistorius Family

Here is the full text of the statement from the Pistorius family:

Firstly, and most importantly, all our thoughts today must be with the family and friends of Reeva Steenkamp.

Oscar Pistorius has appeared in court here in Pretoria this morning formally charged with the murder of Reeva Steenkamp. The alleged murder is disputed in the strongest terms.

These are now live and active legal proceedings which must be allowed to take their course through the process of proper investigation by the police, evidence-gathering and through the local South African judicial system.

In a short hearing lawyers representing the athlete asked for a postponement for a bail application until Tuesday next week to allow time for their own investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy, which was agreed by the Magistrate, who also agreed that Pistorius would be held in custody at a local police station.

Oscar Pistorius has made history as an Olympic and Paralympic sportsman and has been an inspiration to others the world over.

He has made it very clear that he would like to send his deepest sympathies to the family of Reeva. He would also like to express his thanks through us today for all the messages of support he has received - but as stated our thoughts and prayers today should be for Reeva and her family - regardless of the circumstances of this terrible, terrible tragedy.

We will endeavour to issue other statements as matters develop but in these circumstances I am sure you appreciate it is very difficult to answer any more specific questions. Thank you very much for your attention.
